Vinny Pazienza Net Worth 2020, Bio, Age, Height

Vinny Paz, as he is called by the media, used to be a professional boxer. He represented the United States of America and had won several world titles in two categories: lightweight and light middleweight.

There was a movie called Bleed for This, from 2016, and it is a very motivation movie that speaks about him and his years of training that he spent while coming back from a spinal cord injury. It’s a pretty popular one and it received very good critics as well.

Early years

His full name is Vincenzo Edward Pazienza, but nobody calls him by his full name. The internet and people in sports know him as Vinny Paz, Vinny Pazienza or,  most commonly, The Pazmanian Devil. He earned this nickname because of his phenomenal fights.

He was born on December 16th in 1962 in Cranston, Rhode Island in the United States of America. He is very thankful for being born in The States because this gave him a much higher percentage of opportunities than he would usually have if he wasn’t born there.

We don’t know a lot about his early life, but we do know that he was always into sports. He was only 12 when he watched the box on television for the first time.

He says that the rush was incredible and he realized that it was the career he wanted to go for. He knew, though, that there’s a long way to go and that he needed to work very hard, but he was into it.

A year later, when he was 13, he decided to join a local boxing club. His family wasn’t too happy about this since he was pretty young and they didn’t want him to get hurt.

It was a shock to them later when he got into an accident unrelated to his work and that’s when they realized that he was actually made for this sport, for it had saved him after the injury.

Career development

His career started in the early 1980s when he had fights with many famous boxers of that time. He was ready to become one of the world’s best performers and was thrilled to learn from them as well.

Some of the first fights he was in were the Melvin Paul fight, Joe Frazier Jr. fight, Harry Arroyo fight, Nelson Bolanos fight, and Roberto Elizondo fight.

He had mostly won all of his games and that was very encouraging for him. He wanted to train even harder to become even better.

Soon came his first world title fight. It was in June of 1987 in Providence in Rhode Island. He won it and defeated a famous American boxer, Greg Haugen.

It was a pretty long fight, but he earned his IBF world lightweight champion title.

The duo had fought again soon, and the next time Haugen won, but the last fight they had was in Pazienza’s favor.

After succeeding in his previous fights, he tried to get into the junior welterweight division in 1988. He fought against the World Champion Roger Mayweather in 1990. He failed, but…

In 1991, he did move into the junior middleweight division. His first fight in this category was with Ron Amundsen and it was a 12-round fight.

Many people said that it was a pretty bloody one as well! Pazienza soon defeated the middleweight world champion Gilbert Dele.

At this point in his career, he thought that he was doing great and saw many things come, but sadly, he got into a car accident and this ruined all of his plans for further jobs and titles.

In this car accident, he broke his neck, which is a horrible thing to happen to anyone, especially to those who have a career in sports, since it’s very hard to recover from such a terrible injury.

The doctors had told him that he may never live again and it was a terrible thing to hear.

He said that he was afraid of dying and that boxing was nowhere near his concerns. Vinny had to wear a Halo, a horrible machine that kept his head straight.

It was a metal brace screwed into his skull and he had to wear it for three months while training. He wasn’t supposed to train, but he did it without the doctors knowing because he felt like it was the right thing to do.

His intuition certainly was right since Vinny did return to boxing just a bit over a year after his accident.

This is a phenomenal score that not a lot of people can brag about and therefore it’s a huge achievement. No one thought that he would be back this quick.

The media went insane and suddenly everyone wanted to know more about what he was doing and how did he achieve what he achieved.

In his first fight back, he defeated Luis Santana in 10 rounds. No one thought that things would end up being like that. It was a phenomenal score.

He then beat Brett Lally, Lloyd Honeyghan and Dan Sharry. He beat Roberto Duran two times! People thought that he would never lose and it was actually phenomenal, but then he lost his world title against Ray Jones Jr.

In 2001, he changed his last name to Paz. He then lost to a champion called Eric Lucas and he lost the chance to have the world title again.

He didn’t even bother about it too much. He was sad, yes, but everyone was talking about him and his great comeback anyway.

He decided to stop boxing then because he thought that it would be better to finally let his body rest a bit and his injury heals completely. He then continued to do movies and series.

Some of the places he has been featured in were the Police Academy, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Montell Williams show, The Jerry Springer show (where he was a security guard).

He also acted in a movie that never got released. It was called The Good Life and was filmed back in 1997.

He was the subject of movies once. It was a movie called “Bleed for This” and it was inspired by his fantastic comeback after a serious neck injury we previously mentioned.

This comeback after breaking his neck in a 1991 car crash is almost never possible. It was told that he would never walk but he recovered and got back to the ring after 2 years.

He was very happy when he heard that Miles Teller would be playing him. It’s a 2016 movie as well. It was directed by Ben Younger and starred by Miles Teller, Aaron Eckhart, Katey Sagal, and Ciarán Hinds.

It has earned over $6 million in the cinema.

His career ended gracefully and, in the 60 fights he had, he brought home 50 wins and 10 losses, which is a pretty fantastic score.

Personal life

His life, just like the life of any famous man in sports, was full of controversy. There were issues with alcohol-related offenses, domestic violence, bad checks, disorderly conduct, and other things.

Vinny didn’t like to speak a lot about his private life. Many think that he was ashamed of never having a true relationship.

He was known for changing girlfriends and they were mostly girls he would meet after fights, but he never had a really steady spouse.

Vinny swears a lot and doesn’t care where he is. He has dated numerous women and one of them was Jenna Jameson. He says he had slept with over a thousand women.

You don’t really hear a lot about him since he retired, but when he appears in public, it’s mostly other sports events he visits with his friends.
