Raven Symone is a very popular American actress and a singer who got famous through her work in The Cosby Show and in her own series named “That’s So Raven”.

She had also starred in a very popular comedy movie titled Dr. Dolittle and its sequel named Dr. Dolittle 2, but in many more popular movies too.

She is also known as a good singer and had released several albums some of which went very high on charts. She was especially popular as a part of a music group called “The Cheetah Girls”.

Early years

She was born as Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman on December 10, 1985, in a very populous city of Atlanta, which us the capital of Georgia, one of the states in the United States.

She was born into a loving family, with her parents Lydia and Christopher Pearman always protecting and taking care of her and her younger brother named Blaize.

She was very close to her brother from the very day he was born and she protected him later on. After he had grown up he gave her back the same attention.

She was only an infant when her parents enrolled her into a modeling agency called “Young Faces Inc.”.

At the age of two, she started working with one of the most popular American International, modeling agency called Ford Models which had its headquarters in New York City.

She has appeared in many commercials for various companies and advertising items like Ritz Crackers and Cool Whip.

Her parents decided to move to New York, to a village in Westchester County named Ossining.

She was a pupil at Ossining’s Park School and later at Webb Bridge Middle School. She graduated in 2004, from North Springs High School. She was a fairly good student and was interesting in a lot of school subjects, especially art classes.

She always loved listening to music and sing along so she became quite good on it and was one of the best vocals in her music class.

In 1989, when she was only 4 years old, she went to an audition for Ghost Dad, a fantasy comedy film with Bill Cosby, in the main role.

Since she was really too young she wasn’t good for this role but Bill Cosby was so impressed by her that he decided to give her a role in his own show.

The Cosby Show, one of the most popular TV shows in America, was aired from 1984 to 1992. Raven had the role of Bill’s granddaughter Olivia in the sixth season and she stayed in the show until the end of the show.

This role made her very recognizable since it was one of the most popular comedy family series in America at that time.

After leaving this shows she appeared in a TV movie called “Queen: The Story of An American Family”.

The miniseries based on Alex Haley’s and David Stevens’ book was aired on CBS in 1993 and Halle Berry in the lead role. Raven stared as the young Halle Berry in it and was praised for her genuine performance.

In 1992, she has signed a contract with a record label titled MCA Records and that was the start of her singing career.

She began taking lessons from a popular American singer Missy Elliott, and one year later her debut album came out.

It was titled “Here’s to New Dreams”. The album had two lead singles: “That’s What Little Girls Are Made Of” and another one called “Raven us the Flavor”.

She was in a relationship with Az Marie Livingston known from “America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion”. They were together for 3 years and ended their relationship in 2015.

In 2016 she stated that she is a lesbian, not bisexual.

She dated Jonathan McDaniel from 2003 until 2007. He was also an actor on “That’s So Raven” and they have met on the set of the series.
